My experience with this facility was very disappointing. A close family member was hospitalized during a serious mental health crisis, and our family felt that he was discharged before he was truly stable. We also had concerns about changes to his medication regimen and whether he was receiving enough treatment to manage his symptoms. Shortly after discharge, it became clear to our family that he was still struggling significantly and needed additional psychiatric care. We felt that more stabilization and a stronger discharge plan were needed before he was released. I hope the facility takes a closer look at how patients in serious psychiatric crises are assessed for stability and discharged. Families are relying on these facilities to make sure their loved ones are safe and adequately treated before returning to the community.

We are thankful to Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health for providing an immediate safe place for our loved one. It was a relief to know she was being stabilized, assessed, fed, and cared for by an experienced team. In particular, Kayla went above and beyond for our loved one by personally guiding her through the process of transferring to treatment. Although no one necessarily wants to be at FLBH, we are grateful for the work they do when it becomes necessary. Our only complaint was the communication - not impossible to communicate, but difficult. Other than that, the system worked for us!

I strongly urge families to think carefully before admitting a loved one to this facility. Based on our experience, it felt like the focus was more on keeping patients in treatment than on providing individualized care to claim and drain insurance coverage. My daughter was admitted on a Baker Act and prior to the 72 hour hold, she was told that if she signed in voluntarily, she would be able to request her release the following day. After she signed the paperwork, we were informed that she would not be released, because they were not comfortable despite there being no clear explanation for why she needed to remain hospitalized. This was a big concern and very scary for our family. We ultimately retained an attorney, who was able to get her released the next day. From our perspective, this reinforced our belief that there was no sufficient basis for continuing to hold her. We were also disappointed by the lack of communication. Her existing treatment providers and therapist, who were familiar with her medical history and current treatment plan, were not consulted despite our requests. As her parent, I repeatedly attempted to speak the primary doctor (Dr. Gaines) when I was at th

7/31 Update I posted the review below 7 days ago and reached out as directed and have received NO RESPONSE! No calls from the nurse, patient relations, nothing. I would advise anyone to think long and hard before contacting this hospital for any reason. If the hospital can't respond to simple requests, how can they be trusted with your mental health care? The next step is to go in person to the clinic and beg for help as I have done many times. SMH. Have been an outpatient for several years. Staff have always been professional and compassionate. That is why I don't want to change to a different doctor. My issue is always trying to reach a live person or receive a call back. In the past week I have left 3 messages for the patient advocate with no response. I am in dire need of a medication refill. The clinic has had a request for prior authorization for over a month (since June 12). I went in person on Monday and later spoke by phone with the prescriber. I was told this would be addressed. As of today, I am still without my medication. I am at a loss. I have always recommended this clinic but no longer feel like I can do this.

Recognition Report! I would like to recognize and commend MARVIN (Position P.A.T), for the exceptional support, understanding, and professionalism he showed during a difficult time for me. Although he was not required to do so, he took the time to sit down with me and listen to my concerns and personal challenges. He was patient, understanding, and genuinely attentive throughout our conversation. His willingness to listen and provide support made a significant difference and helped me feel heard and respected. MARVIN demonstrated a high level of care and compassion while maintaining professionalism at all times. He went above and beyond what was expected of him, showing dedication not only to his responsibilities but also to the well-being of others. His hard work, attentiveness, and positive attitude are qualities that deserve recognition. I am grateful for the time and effort he invested in helping me, and I believe his actions reflect the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and kindness. This place should be shut down. The workers are so inappropriate with the patients it's beyond not acceptable. The case manager yelled at me upon discharge and asked me if I had$65,000 and if not then I had to go that day. With no pre warning or place to go. The workers swear at you, are on their phones or asleep all of their shifts. I was terribly dehydrated and they didn't send me out to a hospital. They attempted to give an ID of fluid and couldn't properly bc of my dehydration and so left me with a couple of Gatorades. For days. I was hungry, thirsty, too weak to help myself. And they yelled at me to get up and go to the cafeteria 4 floors away when I couldn't get out of bed. It's Soo improperly managed and run that it's scary. Because you are at their mercy when you're there. The food is now terrible. It's filthy. The Dr.s are even joking around with the staff and inappropriate. Once inside you cannot get out and are at their terrible mercy. And then they tell you out of nowhere one day to get out. And it's not their responsibility to help you any further. They never gave me the appropriate medication. Daily. It was such a bad experience that you almost need to go somewhere el

My son was brought here from a hospital.. he was on a medical hold. He called me over and over during my workday. I did not realize where he was , so when he was able to call again he told me he was at this facility on a medical hold and unsure why.. I attempted to reach the staff and my son but the call went to a number that rang for 15 minutes and finally someone picked up ..then transferred me to different units where the phone rings for 18 minutes straight before anyone answers and then they transferred me to another department and then another department. I never actually got to talk to him but when I got to the unit that did acknowledge my son was there, the night shift nurse put me on hold then came back and said my son did not want to speak to me. I knew that wasn’t true because my son had been calling me multiple times that day asking me to please call and see what was going on. The nurse outright lied to me and the next morning when my son called me, he told me that the nurse had never asked him if he wanted to speak to me, and never even told him that I called. The staff never spoke to me at all .. any of the staff, and if they asked him i
